Lessons for English speakers
Learn to read Farsi
A short, active path into reading Farsi: learn the Persian script in useful groups, decode words before revealing their pronunciation, follow the verb to the end, and read a small story before opening your first book.

What you'll learn
- Start with the Green Hill fables, which use deliberately limited language, rather than a full-length classic.
- Read the Farsi line before looking across at English.
- Tap an important unknown word once, read its meaning, and continue.
- Return here only when a recurring pattern blocks you.
- After Green Hill, move to Winnie-the-Pooh, then Doctor Dolittle.
A book will contain more vocabulary and longer sentences. That is expected. This path has shown you what to notice while using a dictionary: the direction of the script, hidden vowels, internal join gaps, ezafe, راrâ, and the verb waiting at the end.
